چکیده

As part of a maintenance cost reduction policy, the Royal Netherlands Navy RNLN recently funded the development, acquisition, certification and the fleetwide installation of a unique multi-channel on-board dataacquisition system for its Lynx helicopter, called AIDA (Automatic Inflight Data Acquisition). This 17-channel AIDA-system will generate valuable RNLN Lynx usage and loads data on main rotor, engines and airframe, thus enabling the RNLN to optimise Lynx maintenance until the NH90 comes into full service and the Lynx fleet will be phased out. Apart from a technical description of the AIDS-system, the present paper describes how a relatively small operator, such as the RNLN, performed the rather complex AIDA develpment programme by itself.

Helicopter Rotor Airloads Prediction Using CFD and Flight Test Measurement in Hover Flight

An implicit unsteady upwind solver including a mesh motion approach was applied to simulate a helicopter including body, main rotor and tail rotor in hover flight. The discretization was based on a second order finite volume approach with fluxes given by the Roeand#39;s scheme. Discretization of Geometric Conservation Laws (GCL) was devised in such a way that the three-dimensional flows on arbi...

Development of a Real-time Onboard and Ground Station Software System for a UAV Helicopter

We report in this paper the development of a real-time software system for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) helicopter, which consists of an embedded computer onboard and a ground station served by a laptop. The software system for the onboard computer performs multiple tasks including data acquisition and measurement, servo driving, automatic flight control implementation, communications and d...

Improved Mathematical Model for Helicopters Flight Dynamics Applications

The purpose of this paper is concerned with the mathematical model development issues, necessary for a better prediction of dynamic responses of articulated rotor helicopters. The methodology is laid out based on mathematical model development for an articulated rotor helicopters, using the theories of aeroelastisity, finite element and the time domain compressible unsteady aerodynamics. The he...

Development of an Avionics System for Flight Data Collection of an UAV Helicopter

In this present work, the development of an avionics system for flight data collection of a Raptor 30 V2 is carried out. For the data acquisition both onground and onboard avionics systems are developed for testing of a small-scale Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) helicopter. The onboard avionics record the helicopter state outputs namely accelerations, angular rates and Euler angles, in real time...

Automatic Landing of Small Helicopters on 4 DOF Moving Platforms

In this research, an automatic control system is designed for landing of a small helicopter on a 4 DOF moving platform. The platform has three translational and one directional degree of freedom. The controller design approach is based on development of helicopter nonlinear dynamic model into the SDC (State Dependent Coefficient) form and real time solving of state dependent Riccati equation (S...
